Set Up Your Streaming Profiles

A listener who likes a track taps your name. What they see next should be the same project on every platform. This step lines up your profiles using what you already built.

The parts every profile has
The names change from app to app, but the pieces are the same:
- Profile picture: your lead photo from step 14, cropped so the face sits in the center, since most apps show it as a circle
- Header or banner: your wide photo, or artwork from the current release
- Bio: who you are in a few lines
- Links: where to go next
- Featured item: the release, video or playlist you want people to open first
Streaming services give artists a free dashboard to manage their own page: photos, bio, a featured pick. If you have never claimed yours, do it first. Verification can take a few days.
Same choices everywhere
Use the same profile picture on every platform. People move between apps, and the picture is how they confirm they found the right account.
Use the same name spelling and, where you can, the same handle.
Use the same short bio as a base, adapted in length. If you do not have one, the free Bio Builder on our site writes yours in three lengths from a few answers.
A profile is finished when someone can land on any of them and recognize the other ones.
Banners need a careful crop
Headers are wide and they are cropped differently on phone and desktop, often with your name or buttons on top. Keep the important part in the central band, and check the result on a phone after uploading. Each platform publishes its current image sizes. Look them up when you export.
Update with each release
Profiles go stale quietly. When a release comes out, change three things on the same day everywhere: the banner, the featured item and the first line of the bio. Then leave the profile picture alone.
A fifteen-minute check
Open every profile in a private browser window, as a stranger would see it. You are looking for old photos, dead links, a bio that mentions “upcoming” things from two years ago, and any place where your name is written differently.
Do this now
List every platform where your project has a profile. Set the same picture on all of them and fix the oldest banner.
Lining up every profile with a new identity is part of how we finish a project. See how we work.
